The Alma Skin resurfacing lasers significantly improves overall skin tone, elasticity, the texture of the skin and is great for scar revision, increases water moisture content and reduces superficial pigmentation and pore size.

This energy heats water within the surface layers of the skin, causing both the water and the tissue of the skin to turn to vapour. Every time the laser passes over the skin, some of the outermost layers of the skin are resurfaced, allowing your practitioner to control how aggressive or superficial to treat your individual skin concerns. Improving the texture and tone of the skin. Minimising scars stimulates the growth of new collagen, improving fine lines, wrinkles and the texture of your skin.

Unlike traditional ablative laser resurfacing, this new generation of Alma laser is much less aggressive on the skin surface, thus minimising redness and downtime.

The depth at which the ablative element of the Alma Laser penetrates the skin, creates heat deep within the skin to trigger the body’s natural healing response. In turn this stimulates the growth of new healthy skin tissue, including the production of new collagen, to deliver a smoother, firmer and more even skin texture.

Before and Afters

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the ALMA Laser Resurfacing at LAB Skin

What is the ALMA iPixel Laser

iPixel Laser is the latest generation of Fraxel Erbium Yag laser. It is an advanced laser skin resurfacing treatment for refining the appearance of the skin on the face, neck, decolletage and hands. It can also be used to improve scarring and stretch marks on areas of the body.

This state-of-the-art technology is superior to previous resurfacing laser techniques. Unlike traditional ablative laser resurfacing this new generation of iPixel laser is much less aggressive on the skin surface, thus minimizing redness and downtime.

The depth at which the ablative element of the iPixel penetrates the skin, creates heat deep within the skin to trigger the body’s natural healing response. In turn this stimulates the growth of new healthy skin tissue, including the production of new collagen, to deliver a smoother, firmer and more even skin texture.

If you are looking to achieve a healthy, more youthful skin and improve the many signs of skin ageing – including brightening dull skin, increasing skin’s moisture levels, reducing fine lines and the depth of wrinkles, refining enlarged pores, improving the appearance of scars or softening rough skin texture – then this treatment may be just right for you.

How does the ALMA iPixel Laser treatment work?

Fractional Ablative laser resurfacing method damages only certain zones within the selected target area, (producing tiny white dots, or pixel-like treated areas on the skin), leaving the other zones perfectly intact. Therefore only treating approximately 20% of the skin within the treatment area. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the whole area was treated.

Number of treatments:

This depends on each individual concern. We generally recommend 4-6 treatments four weeks apart, however your practitioner will be able to provide you with a better guide upon a personalised consultation.

Does it hurt?

How does the treatment feel: Generally considered to be well tolerated and some discomfort, with a light flicking or ‘elastic band’ feeling on the skin as the laser is fired, and some sensation of warmth felt during treatment. Topical anaesthetic can be applied to minimize and discomfort.

TESTIMONIALS

I would say that the clinic is totally professional. I had a Stem Cells facial today, which was outstanding. They are true professionals. They have extensive knowledge of treatments and products and share all this with the client.

Janine Matthews

Neutral Bay

I’ve been a client at LAB for over 3 years. I’ve not only enjoyed my visits but have seen my skin improve markedly. I was reasonably hesitant to try treatments at first (I’d been through the ‘beauty shop’ mill and spent money on Fabulous Treatment X or Fabulous Treatment Y with absolutely no outcome), so responded with a bit of a ‘shield & defend’ approach to any suggestions made. I took the plunge and tried the treatments and products recommended. I was, and continue to be surprised each time I have a treatment, at the cumulative improvements I see in my skin. It not only looks better, it behaves better – it takes up and responds to product more readily. I happily take advice from any of the great therapists. I don’t even question it except to ask their rationale. I can quite honestly say that out of all the businesses I’ve ever been to, LAB Skin Clinic is the only one I trust implicitly. So, I have no hesitation in recommending LAB to anyone who wants to see real and continuing improvement in their skin.
